Wow, what a long trip. I ended up going for longer then I thought I would. First off, we found out that Grandpa Mairs' was turning 91 on Saturday, and my Aunt was having a birthday party/thanksgiving dinner for him. So Ku and I at first decided that we would stay for that at least. Then found out that Ku couldn't travel from Mtn Home to Ontario, to Mtn home and back to POST so we stayed till today cuz he had to go back to post. He actually went back to Post last night, but it was late after the b-day party was over and I didn't want to drive back that late. So I came home after church today.
Alec's Birthday Party was TONS of fun. I will post pictures tomorrow. Thank you to all that helped make his 'CAR' birthday wonderful. He/ we had a blast. I made a birthday cake that resembled a race track. It was so cute. Then we played pen the light on the car. (Ku drew a car for me). All the kids had so much fun.
Mom and I planned Thanksgiving for our families. I got most of the recipes out of 'Better Homes and Gardens". Our thanksgiving was OH SO GOOD. all the food was excellent. I think that might be our new tradition to create new thanksgivings with new recipes each year. I guess we shall see. We did have most of our 'traditional' food. Grandma Mairs brought her Yams...oh so good. Aunt Dede brought her Stuffing, and of course that was good. Then Grandma Mairs also made her famous (at least in the Mairs family) Eggnog Pie. So good. It is Ku's new favorite Pie. I made my Rhubarb pie. And everyone enjoyed that one. Nicole made this YUMMY cranberry salad, and Krystal made the best Sweet Potatoes, you know the ones with marshmallows on them. Oh so good. Mom made the turkey, which was good. Oh so much good food, I will be working that off for a few days. :)
Before we went to the Birthday party for Grandpa Mairs, we had Mom take some pictures for us, so I could get them onto Christmas Cards. So many people don't know we moved. I want to make sure that Ku's family get them, so they know where we are.
Ku has THREE yes I said THREE weeks left. Two weekends. YEA, i can't begin to exclaim how excited I am. He is doing well. He is so close, that we can both smell it. On the 15th of December is his last day, as well as his graduation. We are both SUPPER excited about it. I am going to send out invites for all who want to attend the graduation as well as the party at our house after wards. Did I tell you I am so excited for this long journey to end. It has been since April that Ku and I haven't lived in the same place. (minus the mouth that we were together here in Mtn Home before he went to Post) But still it has been a LONG year for us. Hopefully we won't EVER have to repeat this again.
The kids so Loved having Ku home with us for this holiday season. They so loved his attention. Alec is doing so good at minding (most of the time) and Logan is turning into a little climber. I will look back at him, and oh he will be standing or better yet Jumping up and down on a table. Oh what fun what fun.
I did go to the stores the day after thanksgiving..hoping to find a DVD player. Ours is going down hill fast. Also I dreamed of a new TV. There were some amazing deals to be had for the TV's but still out of our budget. We hopefully will be able to get something new next year. Ours is going to die soon, at least that is what it looks like.
Funny thing, I just went to upload some pictures for my blog, and oh well, I left them in Ontario. Whoops. Guess I will have to upload them next week, if I can get my camera back.
